I am just about to start in college, I am parentless and living in a homeless shelter. I am stressed out. I will be getting loans from the school but don't want to use them a lot because i don't need debt and i'm trying to get a job (Which is a pain because i just recently graduated from high school and have no job experience) I was recently almost killed and had a couple thousand dollars robbed from me and that was the money i had saved up for living during college. Another thing, being at a homeless shelter makes it worse because i have a hard time sleeping with the noise from everyone there at night... lack of sleep=harder to focus= more stress.
I want to do so much in life, I don't want to live off of minimum wage and want to get a career started but not sure how to get started. It takes money and experience to do things...
If anyone can help me get things started in someway ,can give a real job or knows a good place for grants for this kind of thing in Douglas county Oregon please tell me...anything would be awesome...i just want to start my life and have a way to work for more in life without stressing out about transportation when the bus is not running, not even able to have a job to work at, not enough income to get out of homeless shelter without being able to do anything or any of those things..
i mean every word of this. If you have a job open i will tell you this, i am a hard worker and work for what i have. I also have a strong will to stay on the path i need to be and I am very honest because of my dislike for liars and hypocrites. I also am going to do some writing, business and computer classes in my first degree that will allow me to transfer to a four year school.
